At Iron Gates Christian Church, we take the Great Commission very seriously. The final words that Jesus spoke on this earth have had an impact that has been felt for nearly two thousand years. We find these words in the 28th chapter to Matthew.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
This charge given to the disciples was anything but mere words. It has served as the cornerstone for the development of the Church since Jesus walked the dusty roads in Jerusalem more than two millenia ago. These words call us to teach Christs truth to a race of people who desperately need it. These word call us to be like Christ in a world that is suffering under the weight of its own sinfulness.
At Iron Gates we are intentional about doing our part to fullfill this mission. We see southwest Joplin as our opporortunity to teach the truth of Jesus and we intend to make our ministry as effective as we possibly can. We desire to meet the spirtitual needs of people in our community through committed counseling and service opportunities. We also believe that the best way to do this is to minister to the personal needs of people in our community thorugh providing community service and support.
